A program that builds on physical reconditioning, designed to return the injured
employee back to work as soon as possible through education and job simulation.
Patients in Work Simulation build upon the progress made in
Physical Reconditioning
by adding the components of education and job simulation. They learn about proper body
mechanics and how to prevent future injury while on the job. They will also be involved
in activities that simulate many of their essential job tasks so that they will be more
readily prepared for return to work when discharged from the program. Patients are
involved 5 days per week in an all-day rehabilitation program that even has morning,
afternoon, and lunch breaks in order to help re-establish the work routines.
At Holzer Clinic, we believe in returning the injured employee work as safely and
quickly as possible and with the least possible risk for reinjury. When an employee
cannot return to work immediately, individual treatment and preventive training is
initiated to enable him/her to get back on the job as soon as possible. A return-to-work
plan is mapped out the first time the patient is seen, and has the flexibility built into
it to allow for adjustment throughout the recovery process, with the ultimate goal of
returning the employee to the original position with the same company.
