Black
Lung Program
This program, made available through a grant from
the Ohio Department of Health and the US Department of Health and
Human Services, provides medical evaluation, treatment services,
and pulmonary rehabilitation classes.
Holzer Clinic is intended to work in
cooperation with your family physician's care. Once you indicate
an interest in the Program, your physician will be notified to coordinate
your participation. When you have completed the program, a
copy of your medical record will be sent to your physician.
Testing and Evaluation:
Prior to beginning the program, you
will undergo a series of procedures, such as a breathing test and
chest X-ray, to determine your degree of impairment. The Clinic's
Medical Director will conduct an initial examination to determine
treatment appropriate for your case. In addition, upon completion
of the program, follow-up sessions will be offered so that the Clinic
can update your progress.
Program Costs:
With financial assistance from a state/federal
grant, funds are available to assist those who meet eligibility
standards for the treatment program. The Clinic will not interfere
with any Black Lung disability benefits you may already be receiving.
No person will be denied treatment because
of inability to pay.
This program does not discriminate against anyone based upon race,
religion, sex, or disability.
