September 14, 2011, New Albany, OH - Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Holzer Clinic announced today they have reached agreement on a contract that designates the multi-specialty clinic as an Aetna network provider. The contract goes into effect September 15.

Holzer Clinic has more than 140 board certified physicians in more than 30 areas of expertise located in 12 locations throughout the southeast Ohio River valley.

“We are thrilled to have Holzer Clinic in our network – especially since Holzer Health System, including Holzer Medical Center, is already a part of our network of providers. This will be tremendous news for Aetna members in southeast Ohio,” said Jay Timm, president of Aetna’s Ohio market.

Aetna provides health benefits to approximately 1.1 million members in Ohio. Those members have access to an Ohio network that includes 289 hospitals and 33,530 primary care and specialist physicians.

Aetna also employs more than 1,500 people in Ohio. The state is home to one of Aetna’s operations centers that processes claims and provides customer service to Aetna members from around the country.
