May 7, 2010, Gallipolis - Holzer Clinic announces Laboratory Professionals
Week honoring professionals who practice in the medical laboratory including pathologists,
medical technologists, cytotechnicians, and phlebotomists each of whom are invaluable members of
the patient’s health care team.
These well-educated and highly trained health care professionals who perform and evaluate
medical laboratory tests to detect, diagnose, monitor treatment, and help prevent diseases, save
countless lives each day. Their dedication to quality medical testing and exceptional patient

In addition to celebrating the National Laboratory Professionals Week April 19-23, 2010, the
Holzer Clinic Laboratory celebrated their 30th Anniversary in April.
Lois Snider, Gallia County Commissioner, was on hand to make the occasion official. She was
joined by Doug Adkins, Holzer Clinic Director of Nursing; Mark Harvey, Holzer Clinic Chief
Information Officer, Pathologists, Dr. David P. Althaus and Dr. Raul J. Gagucas, and countless
support staff at the Holzer Clinic Laboratory on State Route 850 in Rodney.
