Jackson, OH - In the September 2008 Ohio Medical Group Management Association
meeting held at NorthPointe Center in Lewis Center, OH, local resident Todd Fowler was elected as
the organization’s 2009 President. Ohio Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), founded in
1974 is a state chapter of the national Medical Group Management Association headquartered in
Englewood, Colorado. Founded in 1926, MGMA is the nation’s principal voice for medical group practice.
MGMA’s 21,500 members manage and lead more than 13,500 organizations in which more than 270,000
physicians practice. Fowler has been a national MGMA and Ohio MGMA member for over 8 years.
Ohio Medical Group Management Association:
- Promotes education in the field of medical practice management;
- Disseminates information of mutual interest to its membership throughout the State;
- Improves administration in the medical groups;
- Coordinates with other organizations having similar aims and objectives;
- Communicates and advocates legislative information giving a unified voice on healthcare
issues; and
- Provides an environment for networking
In 1993 Fowler joined Holzer Clinic as a physician recruiter. From 1994 – 1999 Fowler serviced
as Human Resources Manager. He is currently a member of the Holzer Clinic Administration Staff with
primary responsibility for Holzer Clinic Athens and Holzer Clinic Jackson operations.
Fowler is a 1981 graduate of Gallia Academy High School in Gallipolis, Ohio. He earned his
bachelors degree from Ohio Northern University in 1985 and his Maters of Business Administration
from Wright State University in 2000. Fowler earned the MGMA’s designation as a Certified Medical
Practice Executive (CMPE) in 2004.
